Process
Most heart glass beads are made out of matt glass, dichroic glass, furnace glass, frosted glass, fused glass, blown glass and lamp worked glass. In all these process the glass becomes molten and then is given the desired shape of a heart. After that they are added with decorative effects, and different colors of glass interact with each other.
Popular Forms
Once the bead is given the shape of a heart, the glass worker can choose to further ornament the bead by creating dot surfaces or decorating with slices of patterned glass. There are nearly as many types of heart glass beads as there are colors in the spectrum. Created in multitude of styles, these beads may have transparent, translucent or opaque backgrounds or can be foiled with gold or silver.
