Process
To manufacture the handcraft glass beads, the colored glass roads are melted with the help of a mix-torch of propen and oxygen. This colored glass rod is heated up to 1700° F, and then it is wound around a treated glass rod. In this stage, it is decorated and shapes are given according to the requirements. If the requirements are for some special purposes, then in this stage, the molted or semi-molted form of the beads can be annealed by using a digitally controlled kiln. The purpose of using such a kiln is to avoid any kind of splits of fracture on the surface of the beads, because kiln makes the cooling process slower.
Popular Forms
The famous hand crafted glass beads are Nava and Saga glass beads. These beads are used specially in the necklace with other precious crystals. Another type of handcrafted glass bead is Loose Glass Bead. These type of glass beads are totally handcrafted and very high quality glass is required to make these glass beads.
