Fabrication
For the fabrication of the handcrafted glass beads, a mix-torch of propane and oxygen is used to melt the colored glass roads. This colored glass rod is heated up to a temperature as high as 1700° F, before being wound around a treated glass rod. It is only in this stage of fabrication that it is adorned with various stuffs and molded into the desired shape and size. The prepared beads are annealed in a digitally controlled kiln. The use of kiln is necessary because it makes the cooling process slower, hence preventing any cracks to develop on the bead's surface.
The famous handicraft glass beads are Nava and Saga glass beads. These beads are used specially in the necklace with other precious crystals. Another type of handicraft glass bead is loose glass bead. These type of glass beads are totally handcrafted and very high quality glass is required to make these glass beads.
